Aubrey say down heavily at the Hufflepuff table sighing puffing her cheeks out. Coral was supposed to meet her outside the Great Hall more than a half hour ago and she never showed up. Grimacing as she kind of threw a little fit putting random food on her plate not noticing anything else around her. Taking a bite from her toast she grimaced before laying her head softly on the table. " Ottokhae! Ottokhae!?" She said whiny to herself sitting back up quickly pouting her lips out putting her toast back down on the plate pouting even more, if that was even possible. Staring at her food she took a deep breath thinking back to when she was making plans with her dear friend she looked up leaning her head to the side instantly zoning out for a little bit. " Why isn't she here?! She promised!" She said again standing up grabbing her bag and stomping out of the Great Hall suddenly losing her appetite. Stomping her feet a little she pouted making her way slowly toward the Library. Not making eye contact with anyone on her way she kept her cheeks puffed out slowly walking into the library. Looking around to see if she knew anyone her jaw dropped as she saw Coral sitting at one of the tables. Narrowing her eye she stomped her way over to her and dropped her bag on the table with a loud thud. " Yah! What happened to meeting in the Great Hall this morning? Aish! It's not nice to ditch me like that!" She said as quietly as her little body would let her. Sitting down heavily into the chair next to her friends' she grimaced. " Wae! Wae! Unnie~!" She said laying her head on the table looking at her dear friend. Pulling a few books out of her bag along with a piece of parchment she shot a glare in the way of her friend. STATUS # Coral! Coral had been sat in the same position for over an hour. Her head laid down on it's side, resting on one of the Library desks. Originally she had planned on getting some school work done before meeting Aubrey in the Great Hall. Professor Wesley had set them a foot-long essay on star constellations, due in the following day; yet as it were, stars weren't really her thing.
As soon as her cheek hit the table, any thoughts of working or meeting her friend instantly became a distant memory, lost at the back of her head. She stared blankly ahead, not really focusing on anything, as other things began to cloud her mind. Occasionally, she would hear people whisper things as they walked past but as long as they weren't disturbing her, she didn't care. If she could lay here all day, it wouldn't be a bad thing. There was once a time when a friendly student, or a concerned passerby might stop to ask her if she was okay; but they soon seemed to grow tired of asking when the only way she would respond was by rudely ignoring them.
As she lay, she couldn't help but wonder how her little sister was getting on back at home with their appa; he spent so much time working that she knew a lot of the time, her sister must have been by herself. Another thing she couldn't seem to get off her mind, was how she'd actually grown to kind of like this place. She'd never expected too, she came into the school, not because she wanted to, but because she felt like she had no choice; and her mind was closed to any possibilities of enjoyment. Yet Hogwarts had planted a little seed of doubt in her mind, which was ever so gradually growing; causing her more and more confusion as the days went by. Things were much simpler when she knew exactly what she wanted to do with her life. Suddenly a voice cut through her train of thought, and soon she found herself staring into the eyes of those it belonged to Aubrey. Coral let out a hefty sigh, before turning her head to face the opposite direction; leaving Aubrey to stare at the back of her head.

Puffing her cheeks out she sighed seeing Coral being cold once more to her. 'Why would you do that unnie?' She thought to herself as she pouted her lips out standing up quickly moving to the other side of her friend. Stomping her way over to the other side sitting down heavily leaning her head on the table staring at her friend with a sad look on her face. "What's wrong unnie? Why didn't you meet me in the Great Hall like you promise?" Pouting even more she heaved a heavy sigh giving up her interrogation.
She knew they had a ton of homework they needed to work on and usually Aubrey was pushing Coral to finish hers as well, but suddenly Aubrey wasn't feeling up to finishing her homework. She never really let herself get down or upset, but today she couldn't help but just be in a sad mood. Closing her eyes she took a deep breath in reaching her hand up on the table resting it there as she slowly exhaled her breath opening her eyes at the same time. Hearing whispers as students walked by, Aubrey decided for once to ignore them all and not give them the time of day. She just wasn't in the mood.
Moving her eyes willing them to focus on her friend squinting a little looking at her. Lately, something seemed off about her. Well, usually she was emotionless and rather just didn't care about anything around her. But Aubrey knew that was gonna change, she was going to change it. Seeing her smile was amazing, especially since Coral was becomming one of her best friends. "It's time to talk.. really.. What's wrong unnie. Are you trying to prove me wrong again? You're always doing that." [/b] She said ignoring an older students' concern for their pathetic looking charade only to stay in her hunched over positions. Something worried her greatly about Coral, though she could never put her mind on it. "We need to do that Astronomy homework too."[/b] She said quietly pouting a little more. STATUS # Coral! Coral laid staring once more focussing again on nothing until, like before, her friend's face blocked her line of vision. She knew Aubrey wouldn't let it go that easily. Just turning around wouldn't be enough to push her friend away, a fact that made her life somewhat more difficult, but at the same time it made her secretly quite happy. For so long she'd treated people pretty badly, allowing them to follow her around while she'd never give back what she recieved, yet deep down she knew this was going to have to stop. They didn't deserve it, and Aubrey didn't deserve it; she knew this and yet still friendship almost seemed like a weakness. It meant giving away more of herself than she knew how, admitting that she needed someone else was not something she was ready to believe or do. She figured she should probably answer her friend, she wanted to let her know that she had meant to meet her but lost track of time. Instead, all that came out was "Is it not morning anymore?..." It was hardly an acceptable reply, definitely not one she would sit down and take.
Looking at Aubrey, Coral couldn't help but feel guilty. Her eyes were shut, and she looked a lot more upset than when she had first entered the library and Coral knew the blame was hers. Guilt; it wasn't a pleasant feeling, and not one she was used to feeling. Just a small part of the weakness of having a friend, she guessed. Coral wanted to apologise, she knew that she should apologise, but still she couldn't bring herself to say the words. Instead she rested her hand on top of Aubrey's and gave it a little squeeze; hoping that it would be enough. How long they stayed like that, she wasn't sure - it could have been for minutes or 5 hours.
Aubrey wanted to know what was wrong, but how could she answer that? How could she say she's upset because she liked it here? It would make no sense. Besides, opening up wasn't something that came naturally to her; so when Aubrey mentioned the Astronomy homework she was relieved for the change of subject. She let out a sigh and then finally sat up. "Astronomy." She said with a nod, and got out a piece of parchment and a quill.

Letting out a soft sigh, Aubrey kept her eyes shut puffing her cheeks out. Waiting patiently, Aubrey knew that if she was quiet long enough, Coral would have to say something. Awkward silences didn't generally bug her, but with Coral, they seemed to bother her. Pouting more at her reply Aubrey hit her hand on the table in a small fit. "What do you mean? You know it's not morning! Unnie, you can't lie like that! Don't be like this." She said quickly puffing her cheeks out. Opening her eyes a little she looked at her friend. "Why can't you just, talk. Talk instead of being like this? Why are you so emotionless. I feel far too emotional around you!" She said feeling herself getting more and more upset. Pouting Aubrey looked down at the table. Honestly, she didn't know why she was still trying with Coral. Coral was her best friend, yet they really didn't seem all close. She felt as though she was just clinging to her for no reason. Yet, she didn't feel bad. Because there were moments when they actually felt like they were best friends. They could sometimes laugh and have a good time, but then all the other times it was like Coral just didn't even want her around. Maybe she was just being psychotic? She didn't know, but something was wrong because now Coral seemed to be trying to upset her. Closing her eyes once again she sighed. She wanted to stop trying, she wanted to just understand why Coral was pushing her away. Taking a deep breath, she exhaled opening her eyes quickly feeling Coral's hand on hers. Opening her eyes quickly she stared at her friend. This was the first time in a few weeks that Coral had made any sort of effort in comforting her. Smiling a little Aubrey didn't move, she wanted to just taking it in. These were the moments when Aubrey was sure they were bets friends. After an unknown amount of time Aubrey smiled even more, suddenly she felt ready to get the homework done. Sitting up when she spoke she pulled her parchment and quill out setting her book heavily on the table. "Okay, so we need to just... Get this paper done then we can do Charms!" She said cheerfully as if nothing in her morning had gone wrong. "What constellation are you choosing unnie? He said we could pick whatever one we wanted! I'm choosing Casseopia!" She said starting to scribble away on her parchment laughing a little. STATUS # Coral! FEATURING # Coral and Aubrey! WORD COUNT # I don't know.. NOTES # Don't be so mean unnie! Aubrey reacted in the way Coral knew she would, she acted the way any normal person probably would have acted. However, had the roles been reversed, and Coral had been given an awful answer like the one she'd given, she probably would have pushed the person, screamed at them and maybe even huffed off in a sulk. Of course, Aubrey was a lot nicer than she was and she'd stick around to see it through. Listening to her friend's words, she wished she knew how to reply. The truth was this, she didn't know why she couldn't talk and she didn't know why she was so emotionless, it's just how she was and she had no idea how to change it. Of course, Coral would never admit to not knowing the answer to something, so instead she kept quiet once more; she was certain Aubrey would cheer up soon, anyway.
They didn't exactly have a traditional friendship, in fact some people might question why they were even friends to begin with. Aubrey was sweet, kind and talkative - everything that Coral wasn't - Coral was cold, quiet and, more often than not, very grumpy; a complete contrast to Aubrey's cheerful exterior. So what was it that had drawn them together? Why did they even put up with each other? Coral, herself, couldn't even answer it, but it was like some unseen force pulling them together, they needed each other's friendship and bizarrely, it just worked.
Like she predicted, Aubrey did cheer up. She'd sat up to eagerly join her in the afternoon's homework; only Aubrey could be so chirpy over such a subject. "Err... I haven't gotten as far as choosing a constellation yet..." A pile of books lay near her, ones she'd picked out to help with the homework before she'd zoned out. She pulled the closest one toward her, an A-Z of Constellations, closed her eyes and began flipping through the pages. After a couple of seconds, she prodded her finger onto a page causing them to stop moving. "I am going to use the..." she said slowly, looking carefully at the page her book had landed on, "Puppis constellation."
Coral leant over to have a look at what Aubrey was writing; how did she know so much about stars? It was a good thing Coral had her A-Z book, or she would certainly be in trouble. "Hey, Aubrey... maybe you should sing the stars in this constellation and I'll write them down!" Had Coral been a gigglier, she might have let out a giggle here, but sadly, she was not so instead she just grinned.

Sighing softly Aubrey shook her head and instantly moved to hit her forehead lightly with her palm. "Why.. do I even ask you. Why do I even try? Puppis? Are you sure you want to do that one unnie?" She said quietly before shaking her head quickly dipping her quill back into the ink taking a few seconds to think on what she had written. Aubrey usually didn't have too much trouble staying on topic when it came to homework, but today as she was trying to think back to the lectures where they had learned about the constellations, she got sidetracked and her mind started to wander back to her almost heartless friend. Sure, she should just get used to not having a friend who laughed with her, didn't cry when she did. Really, Coral was just there to tell Aubrey to man up and just move on. In all honesty, Aubrey envied her best friend. She didn't show her emotions, she always acted strong and no one ever teased her. Aubrey was the complete opposite. The Slytherins often took to teasing her and knocking her bags out of her hands because they knew she wouldn't fight back. Aubrey wasn't strong, she wasn't the type to even say anything, she just let it happen because she knew soon enough that it would all be over and she would be smiling again. Sighing softly, Aubrey rubbed her forehead trying to get herself back on track. Shaking her head she tightened her grip on her quill as she looked back at her paper almost staring, not saying a word. Glancing up at Coral, Aubrey smiled at her. "You know, if you listened in class or at least read my notes, you'd know as much as me." She said elbowing her friends arm playfully. "You'll be okay, we'll make sure you pass the assignments. What are friends for?" She said quietly shrugging a little looking over at the stack of books sitting next to her before pointing to a book next to Coral. "Unnie, hand me that book please. I've run out of facts I think that I already knew." She said holding her left hand out as she grabbed her quill scribbling down a few more notes before setting it down. Shaking her head she smiled a little. "Sing the stars in the constellation? Aish, unnie, you want people to have more reasons to make fun of me?" Letting out an awkward laugh she shook her head. Coral knew more about Aubrey than most people, even though she wouldn't ever admit it. The same went for Aubrey knowing almost everything about Coral, somehow Coral was able to deal with Aubrey's constant happiness and knew exactly when she was faking it. Aubrey was glad she had such a strong best friend, though she had no problem admitting it. Turning to her friend she laughed a little. "Unnie, maybe you should sing all the stars, that way you actually know them instead of me having to help you remember them." She said poking her friends' cheek softly a few times smiling a little more. "You just need to study more, we can work on that. Even if it means forcing you to sing!"STATUS # Coral!
