You tell me that you've got everything you want -
and your bird can sing! But you don't get me, you don't get me.
You say you've seen the seven wonders and your bird is green!
But you can't see me, you can't see me.

HISTORY: Ingrid Fleming was born to Melanie and Dennis Fleming on 7th July, 1963. Her parents loved her {and eachother} and gave her everything they could - granted, that wasn't very much, because they didn't have a lot of money, but it was enough, and Ingrid had a happy childhood. As she grew up, her parents drilled into her the importance of learning and she took it to heart, generally preferring to stay in and read than go out and play with the other kids. Because of this, she never really learned how to interact with other people her age - or any age for that matter. Melanie and Dennis weren't too concerned about this - they were planning on homeschooling her, so it wasn't like other kids were going to pick on her, and she'd have plenty of time to learn how to interact with others during university, right?
But then, the summer that Ingrid turned eleven, a man arrived from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and informed Melanie and Dennis that their daughter was a witch. Ingrid was thrilled by this - she'd always hoped magic was real - but her parents weren't sure what to think. Their daughter, a witch? That wasn't possible! She didn't have a single wart and her skin wasn't the least bit green! Did being a witch mean she couldn't go to university? Were witches allowed to be doctors? How about lawyers? What did all of this mean? Melanie and Dennis were full of questions and the man from Hogwarts quickly got tired of it and told them that Hogwarts was a very good school and they should be honored to have their daughter go there - and then he disappeared. Satisfied that magic was real, Melanie and Dennis quickly went from being confused, to being proud, and so Melanie went off to Hogwarts.
She was sorted into Hufflepuff and in spite of her awkwardness, she made friends there quickly. Notable among these friends are Aubrey Park and Coral Rhie. Aubrey and Ingrid became friends almost immediately, and the two can often be seen together, talking and laughing or singing together. Ingrid and Coral, however, did not hit it off as quickly. Coral was rude and picked on Ingrid. Luckily, Ingrid did not realize that Coral was picking on her, and eventually the two of them became friends. It was Aubrey and Coral that got Ingrid to join the glee club, and Ingrid was surprised to find that not only was she actually a decent performer, she also really enjoyed performing. She made several other friends at Hogwarts, too, including THAT ONE KID, and they are still good friends. There's probably some other people, too, but I don't really know right now, so I'll come back and add to this later.
Now, in her third year at Hogwarts, Ingrid is still quite socially awkward, but she's gotten better since her first year. She is still in glee club, and she wouldn't give it up for anything, because she loves performing. For a time, she had a crush on Arvin Cunningham, the professor in charge of glee club - she thought he was talented and cute - but she has since gotten over that. He is still her favorite professor though, and she still thinks he has nice hair. She is basically oblivious to the growing danger that Voldemort and the death eaters pose, but that can only last so long, and when the time comes, she will support the order.
LIKES:
• AUBREY & CORAL
- Aubrey and Coral are Ingrid's best friends, and she loves them more than anything. She never had proper friends before them and now she has them, she would be lost without them. Aubrey is the nicest person Ingrid knows, and she always feels like she can tell her anything. She and Coral didn't get on very well in the beginning, but Ingrid was, for the most part, completely oblivious to it. She now realizes that some of things Coral said to her in the past weren't compliments, but it doesn't matter, because she loves Coral anyways• KID WHOSE NAME IF FORGET - A WOP BOP A LOO BOP A WOP BAM BOO! WE GO TOGETHER LIKE RAMMA LAMMA LAMMA KA DING-A-DY DING KA DONG! REMEMBERED FOREVER AS SHOO-BOP SHOO WADDA WADDA YIPPIDY BOOM-DY-BOOM! CHANG CHANG CHANGITY CHANG SHOO BOP! THAT'S THE WAY IT SHOULD BE! WAAAA-OOO, YEAH! I am listening to the Grease soundtrack, sorry. Anyhow, I forget this kid's name, but Ingrid is friends with him, so I'll write about that sometime.
• LEARNING - Some people might call Ingrid a nerd and they would probably be right, because there are few things that Ingrid loves better than school. When she was growing up, her parents pressed upon her the importance of knowledge and she took it to heart, working very hard at school before she came to Hogwarts. For the first eleven years of her life, she didn't really make any friends, as she was too focused on school. Since she found out she was a witch and came to Hogwarts, she has mellowed out considerably, but she still works very hard at all her classes and will tell anyone who asks just how much she loves to learn.
• MAGIC - Ingrid always enjoyed fantasy books - the idea of magic was something she found fascinating and she spent a good deal of her free time reading them. So when she found out she was a witch, it goes without saying that she was very excited. She loves magic and not a day goes by that she doesn't learn something new and exciting about it. She's stopped reading her fantasy books now, because now she has the real thing.
• HATS - Ingrid collects hats. Why? Because she loves hats. Top hats, skull caps, fez - what's the plural for fez? Fezzes? Yup, fezzes. Fezzes are cool. Anyways, Ingrid loves hats of all kinds and she has an extensive collection of them. That said, she very rarely wears them, though if asked why she doesn't wear them, she won't be able to give a reason.
• FRUIT - Ingrid really likes fruit. It's kind of unhealthy how much she likes fruit. Bananas, apples, raspberries, strawberries, kumquats... She loves them all. She can talk for hours about how much she likes fruit. 'Nuff said.
• MUSIC - Everybody likes music and Ingrid is no exception. There are few things she enjoys more than listening to other people, and even fewer things she enjoys more than singing herself.

DISLIKES:
• MEAN PEOPLE
- Though Ingrid does not generally understand social cues [or social situations of any sort, for that matter] and she can sometimes be oblivious to more subtle insults, she can tell the difference between someone being mean and someone being nice. She cannot see why anyone would want to be mean, and therefore she simply does not like mean people.• WATER - Please don't misunderstand - Ingrid does not dislike drinking water. Water is one of her favorite beverages. What she doesn't like is swimming in it. Or driving over it on a bridge. Or boating. Or rafting. Or really anything that could involve her ending up in the water. This is because when she was six, she nearly drowned while on vacation with her parents and because of this she has always been afraid of the water. She has never learned to swim properly, because she can never stay in the water for more than a few minutes at a time, and she has been known to have panic attacks while driving over bridges.
• HEIGHTS - She does not like them. They frighten her. 'Nuff said.
• PARTIES - Ingrid is more than a little socially awkward, and so parties, for her, are not fun, so much as they are hellish occasions where she is sure to make a fool of herself and become the butt of many jokes. If she is forced to go to parties, she will usually spend the whole night cowering behind Coral or Aubrey. This does very little good, because she always embarrasses herself anyways.
• ALCOHOL - Ingrid does not see the appeal of alcohol. It smells bad, it tastes bad (or so she assumes, she's never actually tasted it) and a night of 'getting buzzed' is in no way worth a hangover. She will not drink, no matter how much she is pressured. Or at least, she likes to think she wouldn't, but as she's never actually been pressured to drink, she doesn't really know.
STRENGTHS:
• PERSISTENT
- When Ingrid starts something, she finishes it. End of story. If she starts an assignment, she finishes it. If she asks a question, she keeps asking it until she gets an answer. If she decides to perform a song, she will practice it until it is perfect. She never does anything half way, and though sometimes this can annoy other people, it is ultimately a strength.• COMPASSIONATE - Ingrid hates to see other people hurt or upset, whether they are people she likes or not. She will always try to comfort someone who seems down, though often she does a very bad job of it.
• LOYAL - Ingrid does not have a lot of friends, but she is extremely loyal to those she does have. Once you're friends with Ingrid, she will do anything for you, whether it be standing up to someone who is being rude to you or staying up until late at night to help you with your homework. She could never betray her friends.

WEAKNESSES:
• SOCIALLY AWKWARD
– What it says on the tin. Ingrid is socially awkward. She doesn't catch social cues and doesn't understand social situations. She is often surprised when people inform her that things she is doing are 'weird.' • SHY – Sometimes cripplingly so. Ingrid gets nervous just thinking about talking to strangers. That said, this is only when she is by herself. When she is with Coral, Aubrey, THAT ONE KID, or anyone else she is friends with, she is instantly more confident.
• NO FILTER – Ingrid says whatever is on her mind without thinking about whether or not it's a good thing to voice. This leads to her offending people - and if they're not offended, they tend to think she is insane.
PERSONALITY: Ingrid is shy, awkward, and naive, and generally people have a hard time seeing past these things. However, underneath all that, Ingrid is caring, loyal, hard-working, funny, and very clever.
