Seventh year and classes under-way. Who would have thought this was even going to happen? Amber seemed to have forgotten that there would come a time when she wasn't in school. This had been her home-away-from-home for seven years and it broke her heart a little to remember that she'd be done, completely, at the end of the year. Before it had always seemed like something that was too far away to even happen. Even during their meeting during fifth year. It had all been like ...'graduating? Pfft. That'll never happen.' It had always been a real thing that just wasn't going to happen, not anytime soon. But now she was there, her last year. One more year before she had to leave her sisters to manage on their own and actually make a play to be a Healer. It was daunting, even now it seemed like something that she was not going to fully recognize until the day of graduation when she walked away from this place for the last time as a student.
Professor Baxon called the class to order, glaring at some of the more lazy students though she herself received a small smile from the man. Working hard actually got you somewhere in a teacher's books, and being Head Girl seemed to improve it even more. Her book was already out, parchment and a quill next to it as he started lecturing them on the new spell he was introducing. The general idea was that a majority of seventh year was review, that by the time you were a seventh year student you knew everything you needed to know and that was mostly true. But it was still the beginning of the year and there was still some new spells and hexes that needed to be learned before they could pass the exams in the spring. One thing Amber did love though, was being in class with her fellow Ravenclaws. At least she knew that work would actually be done, for the most part.
Here she didn't risk as much chance at being the only one trying to understand, or deal with the immaturity of some people calling her a nerd because she actually tries to learn. C'mon! She's a Ravenclaw for a reason. It used to make her laugh when people made fun of her study habits, as if they were shocked that someone from the Ravenclaw house was actually studying and trying to do well. That was the other houses though, more often than not they didn't see the point in studying like her and her classmates did. Notes were jotted down before the Professor was ordering them into pairs to practice. Hearing her name paired with Krystal's her eyes scanned the room quickly before her notes and books were shoved back into her bag and she moved over to her dark-haired friend. "Wanna send me flying first?" Grinning at her friend as she referred to the spell, Excelsiosempra, which was meant to send the target high into the air.
